A certified pre-owned car (CPO) or certified used car is a recent model used vehicle that has passed a multi-point condition and safety inspection as specified by the certifying automaker.
As a result of the additional inspection and reconditioning requirements, most CPO vehicles include a certified used car warranty in addition to the remainder of the original manufacturer warranty.
