The Subaru Legacy is a full-time all-wheel drive sedan that provides an exciting driving experience. With its sporty looks and increased performance, it is an ideal everyday car with a sport car attitude.
New for this year, the Legacy comes only as a sedan. It is available with a new 245 hp 3.0 R Limited 6-cylinder Boxer engine option. The 3.0 R Limited will also feature 18-inch wheels and a Bilstein sport suspension for increased performance. All trims come standard with full time all-wheel drive. The five-speed automatic transmission has new manual gear selection paddle shifters. A unique SI-Drive system is also available that allows three different driving modes: "Intelligent," "Sport" and "Sport Sharp." Subaru's already capable safety features receive a standard tire-pressure monitor as well.
For 2008, the Subaru Legacy is no longer available as a wagon. It gets external changes to its bumper and lights, in addition to cabin styling enhancements.
NHTSA rates crash-tested vehicles by assigning them one to five stars, with five stars indicating the most injury protection and one star indicating the least protection.
