2008 Mercury Sable Overview
Introduction
The Mercury Sable is a full size sedan that is in essence a re-badged Montego, which has been dropped by Mercury in 2008.
The Sable is a full size sedan capable of carrying up to five passengers. It has a quieter ride than the almost identical Montego that it is replacing. It is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 that produces 263 hp. This power is controlled by a six-speed automatic transmission that puts it to the ground through either the front wheels or an all-wheel drive system. Safety features that are available include: four-wheel disc antilock brakes, traction control, stability control, six standard airbags, and Ford's Safety Canopy that protects occupants in a rollover.
For 2008, the Mercury Sable returns on a re-designed Mercury Montego platform.

NHTSA rates crash-tested vehicles by assigning them one to five stars, with five stars indicating the most injury protection and one star indicating the least protection.
