2005 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Overview

Introduction

Mercedes-Benz has successfully provided Formula One technology and performance wrapped in Mercedes-Benz styling and luxury with the all-new SLR McLaren.

The 617 hp @ 6500 rpm and 575 lb-ft torque @ 3250 rpm produced by an AMG 5.4L V-8 engine results in a manufacturer's estimated 0-60 mph time of 3.91 seconds. The SLR mates the AMG power to a 5-speed automatic transmission with AMG SpeedShift and Touch Shift technology. Upfront, the wheels are 19” x 9” wrapped in P255/35ZR19 rubber with 19” x 11.5” of wheel wrapped in P295/30ZR19 in the rear. Connecting the driver to the car are single-piece carbon fiber-frame sport seats wrapped in Grand Nappa leather. When you are not listening to the AMG engine roar you can enjoy the Bose surround-sound system with 6-disc CD changer. Options include gold or red break calipers, a two-tone steering wheel and contrasting stitching in various colors.

The SLR McLaren is all-new for 2005.
