The Best New Car Deals: February 2014
After a poor month of sales in January, mainly due to inhumane temperatures in much of the country, automakers have geared up in an effort to post a strong February. American automakers are being especially generous with incentives this month, as cars like the Cadillac ATS, Ford Fusion and Ram 1500 are selling at thousands of dollars below sticker price on average.
With help from TrueCar.com, we've come up with a list of the ten best new car deals for February. These are vehicles which are selling on average for an exceptionally high discount compared to their sticker and invoice prices thanks to aggressive automaker incentives, low demand and/or the end of a vehicle's current generation design.

The Prius has become synonymous with the word hybrid. Its fuel economy is stellar, cargo room is great for running errands and taking trips and its long list of available options can give it a very comfortable interior. The Prius doesn't often sell at a significant discount, so if you're looking to add a hybrid to your life, we recommend getting to a Toyota dealer soon.

The Kia Rio is a stylish and sporty small sedan or hatchback that comes with more standard features than you may expect for the price. Available features include a rear backup camera, push-button start, power folding mirrors, a heated steering wheel and heated seats. Even fully loaded with those options, the Rio still costs around just $20,000. Not bad at all.

Diesel is slowly gaining traction here in the American market. But because car buyers are often still wary of these powertrains, they tend to sell slowly and can often be had for a great deal. If you're in the market for a luxury sedan, we suggest that you take advantage of this situation and look at the BMW 328d. It combines a European luxury interior, superb driving dynamics and great fuel economy (45 mpg on the highway). The 328d is currently selling at 10.2 percent under its sticker price on average.

Yes, it has a weird name and an even weirder exterior design. The Nissan Juke, though, is still a solid small crossover in spite of its quirks. Because it has a low center of gravity, nicely-weighted steering and a peppy 1.6L turbo engine, it's a hoot to drive. It's also decently fuel efficient and starts at well under $20,000. If you like to stand out on the road, have fun while driving and want some versatility, this is a car to test drive. Especially since it's selling at almost 11 percent under sticker price on average.

The Ford Fusion is one of the best-looking cars on the road, bucking the trend in a class full of bland sedans like the Toyota Camry and Nissan Altima. The Fusion is also quite fuel efficient and comes with a nice interior that's customizable with a wide array of options. Almost everything about the Fusion is positive, except for MyFord Touch, which is Ford's infotainment system. Updates have improved its functionality, but it's still not very good.

It may seem crazy for a minivan to have a starting sticker price over $30,000, but the Chrysler Town & Country is so comfortable and full of features that it's basically a luxury vehicle. Perhaps the best aspect of this minivan is its Stow'n Go seating, which allows for quick and easy removal of the rear seats, greatly expanding the cargo area. The Town & Country is currently selling at almost 12 percent under sticker price on average, significantly bringing down that big price tag.

The Cadillac ATS has been well-received by consumers and critics. The luxury sedan, which competes with the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4, represents the dawn of a new era for Cadillac in which sporty driving dynamics take on a much more prominent role. The ATS, which comes with a 2.0L turbo four-cylinder, 2.5L four-cylinder or a 3.6L V6 engine, has power and excellent handling, as well as a well-appointed interior. Like the Fusion, however, the car is held back by its poor infotainment system.

Though the Chevrolet Malibu doesn't boast the sharp looks of the Ford Fusion or the great driving dynamics of the Mazda6, it's still a solid midsize sedan in its own right, perfect for the commuter that needs to get from A to B comfortably and reliably. We'd generally recommend you shop the competition over the Malibu, since this sedan doesn't really stand out in any way, but given that it is currently selling at over 12 percent below its sticker price on average, you may find it to be a deal that's too good to pass up.

The Journey has not been a strong seller for Dodge, likely because it is not a very good crossover. Sure, it's roomy and functional, but it gets blown out of the water by its competition in styling, interior features, fuel economy and driving dynamics. Since Dodge has had trouble moving these off of dealer lots, heavy discounts are being applied in an effort to entice buyers to snatch them up. The Journey is selling at 14.5 percent under its sticker price on average right now.

The critically-acclaimed Ram 1500 is a tough, capable truck. It doesn't sell at as high of a rate as its competition, namely the Ford F-150 and Chevrolet Silverado, but it's widely considered to be just as good. Since it sells at a lower volume, that means it is prone to aggressive incentives, making it often available for well under its sticker price. Selling at an average of 15.2 percent under its sticker price, the Ram 1500 is the best deal for the month of February.
