2008 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Overview
Introduction
The TrailBlazer is among the best of the truck-based midsize SUVs. It's capable of hauling heavy loads and negotiating rugged off-road terrain. Yet it's also smooth, comfortable and civilized.
The base engine is a 285 horsepower, 4.2-liter inline-6, Vortec 4200, which comes standard with a four-speed automatic transmission. The TrailBlazer SS features GM's LS2 6.0-liter V8 engine, which produces 390 horsepower. For added safety, GM's StabiliTrak electronic stability control system is standard. Other safety features include dual-stage driver and passenger airbags.

NHTSA rates crash-tested vehicles by assigning them one to five stars, with five stars indicating the most injury protection and one star indicating the least protection.
