2008 Volkswagen Rabbit Overview
Introduction
The Volkswagen Rabbit is a quick, fun to drive hatchback with typical high level German refinement.
The Rabbit is available in two-door and four-door versions. The four-door comes with more standard equipment. All models are powered by a 2.5-liter, inline five-cylinder engine that now generates 170 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque (was 150hp/170tq in 2007). They come with a five-speed manual transmission or optional six-speed automatic. Safety features standard on all models include anti-lock brakes, traction control, side-impact airbags for front-seat passengers and side-curtain airbags.
For 2008, the Rabbit includes the 20 extra horsepower, tire pressure monitoring system and new trim level naming.
