The CC is a Passat sedan wrapped in a dramatic and stylish four-door coupe-like body with flowing lines and a bold face.

Power comes from either a 200-hp 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine, or a 280-hp 3.6-liter narrow-angle V6 (VR6). The VR6 can only be had with the all-wheel drive 4MOTION system, while the 2.0T only comes with front-wheel drive models. The CC carries four people in ergonomic sport-type leatherette seats (leather in the VR6 model). Standard safety features include electronic stability and traction control, anti-lock brakes, panic brake assist, six airbags, front row seatbelt pretensioners and a tire pressure monitoring system. Features such as a panoramic sunroof, Dynaudio stereo system, navigation system, back-up camera and satellite radio are also standard on some trim levels, optional on others.

For 2011, numerous equipment changes have been made including no longer offering leather seats or the VR6 engine on front-wheel drive models. Two new navigation systems are available, as well as the addition of ventilated seats as standard equipment to the leather seats in the VR6 4MOTION model.
