The Prius comes in one well-equipped trim level. Standard features include automatic air conditioning with a micron filter, fabric upholstery, power windows, door locks and heated outside mirrors; remote keyless entry; cruise control; a tilting steering wheel with redundant climate and audio controls; intermittent front and rear wipers; and a six-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo. It receives power though its Hybrid Synergy Drive, which is basically an electric motor teamed with a combustion engine. For 2008, the Toyota adds a more affordable Standard trim to the Prius lineup in addition to the Base and Touring trims.

Additionally, the available moonroof now boasts solar panels that power a new ventilation system, allowing remote air conditioning so that the driver can cool the interior before getting into the vehicle.
