The Toyota Prius v is a new addition to the Prius family, expanding a lineup of gas-electric hybrid vehicles that has set the standard for environmentally-friendly transportation. This front-wheel drive, five-door liftback delivers comfort, excellent fuel economy and low emissions, as well as additional cargo space for today's active families.
The Prius v is available in three trim levels - Prius v Two, Prius v Three and Prius v Five. All trim levels employ Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive, a hybrid powertrain technology that unites a 1.8-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder gasoline engine with a powerful electric drive motor to generate 134 combined horsepower. A continuously variable transmission (CVT) is standard, and three selectable drive modes provide more power without compromising fuel efficiency. The Prius v Two is equipped with 16-inch aluminum wheels, passive entry/start, automatic air conditioning, cruise control, a USB port and Bluetooth hands-free phone/audio streaming; Prius v Three trims add voice-activated navigation, HD/satellite radio and Toyota's new Entune multimedia system, featuring smartphone integration, text-to-speech and an assortment of mobile apps. Prius v Five trims are further outfitted with LED headlights, 17-inch aluminum wheels, heated front seats and eco-friendly SofTex upholstery. Standard safety technologies include anti-lock brakes with brake assist, vehicle stability/traction control systems and a backup camera monitor, as well as front side-impact airbags, front and rear overhead curtain airbags and a driver's knee airbag. An optional Advanced Technology Package offers a pre-collision system, radar cruise control, intelligent parking assist and a Mayday system, along with an innovative panoramic roof made of lightweight resin. Hybrid-related components are backed by an 8 year/100,000 mile warranty.
The Toyota Prius v is all-new for 2012.
