The Scion tC is an affordably priced but well-equipped coupe that benefits from Toyota's attention to quality, durability and reliability. It is marketed towards the young first time buyer looking for a sporty and hip urban vehicle.
The tC is powered by a 161-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that is mated to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. Direct iPod connectivity is standard, along with a regular auxiliary jack for any other type of portable music device. Standard safety features include seven airbags, four-wheel ABS, tire pressure monitoring and a first aid kit.
For 2008, the Scion tC receives a subtle facelift inside and out. A redesigned grill and headlights up front, and new tail lights out back. Inside is updated seat trim, a Pioneer subwoofer, and new gauge faces.
NHTSA rates crash-tested vehicles by assigning them one to five stars, with five stars indicating the most injury protection and one star indicating the least protection.
