2004 Saleen S7 Overview

Introduction

The S7 is the first car to be produced by the world famous Saleen team, and was not built off an existing vehicle model. Saleen wanted to produce a supercar designed completely digitally prior to production, and that would compete with supercars from around the world.

The S7 features a naturally aspirated 7.0L V-8 engine that outputs 575 hp @ 6400 rpm and 570 lb-ft of torque @ 4000 rpm. The S7 is available only in a 6-speed manual transmission and is estimated to reach 0-60 in approximately 3.4 seconds, making S7 worthy of the supercar label.

Calculated to be completely aerodynamic by using state of the art digital designing software, the S7's body is built of light weight carbon fiber and is able to produce more down force than the car actually weighs. The Saleen's aerodynamic design is so advanced that theoretically it could drive upside down in computer generated test studies.
