2003 Porsche Cayenne Overview

Introduction

The Porsche Cayenne is a 5-passenger, all-wheel drive luxury SUV.

There are two trim levels available on the 2003 Cayenne, the S and the Turbo. Both trims have 4.5L V-8 engines, the S trim outputs 340 hp @ 6000 rpm and 310 lb-ft @ 2500 rpm, while the Turbo significantly increases its output to 450 hp @ 6000 rpm and 457 lb-ft @ 2250 rpm. All-wheel drive and a 6-speed automatic TRIPTRONIC transmission are standard on both models. As well, both the Cayenne S and the Turbo come with Porsche's Traction Management system and Stability Management system, safety features which detect slippage and re-direct power to the appropriate wheels in icy conditions. One available option unique to the Cayenne is air suspension, which allows the driver to control the ride height with six different levels, allowing increased ground clearance for rough, or off-road driving conditions.

The 2003 Cayenne averages 14mpg in the city and 20mpg in highway driving conditions.
