2005 Porsche Boxster Review Summaries
What reviewers liked most about the Porsche Boxster:
Light and eager, the Porsche Boxster steers through the corners like a roller skate, as always.
-- Automobile
A completely redesigned cockpit with a new center console and 911-style seats is set off by a fully adjustable steering column with a 3-spoke steering wheel. Although the instrument pod retains its familiar three-dial layout, the speedometer, tach and gauge modules, which feature black faces for the normal Boxster and white faces for the S, are set farther apart for better viewing.
-- Road & Track
What reviewers liked least about the Porsche Boxster:
With the top in place, the Boxster seems to run into a barrier of wind resistance at 151 mph (8 mph shy of Porsche's claimed top speed).
-- Automobile
At $53,100, the 2005 Boxster S costs (and weighs) a bit more than its predecessor. But that's because it has more standard equipment, which makes it a better deal than the old S.
-- Road & Track
Best one-liner about the Porsche Boxster:
The second-generation Boxster has slightly more muscular proportions; it now looks like a genuine statement of style, not just a bite-size fashionista.
-- Automobile
Value aside, however, I like the new Boxster because it finally looks and drives the way I would expect it to.
-- Road & Track
