2005 Pontiac GTO Review Summaries
What reviewers liked most about the Pontiac GTO:
The GTO's handling is really more Deutschland than Detroit. In corners the front end bites hard and the rear tracks dutifully, the understeer staying mostly in the shadows.
-- Car and Driver
It zooms to 60 mph in 5.3 seconds and hits 100 mph in 13.4 seconds. The engine loafs at 75 mph in sixth gear, and the car has a top speed of nearly 160 mph.
-- MSN Autos
Passengers will find meaningful leg and shoulder room; a direct benefit of the GTO's long-waisted design and generous (for a coupe) 109.8-in. wheelbase.
-- Road & Track
Approaching the GTO in the steel, you can see how the styling is wind-tunnel smoothed to a 0.31 coefficient of drag, but there's still a refined tension in the long fenders and extended rear quarters that catches the eye.
-- Road & Track
What reviewers liked least about the Pontiac GTO:
...shifter has well-defined gates but a rubbery feel.
-- Road & Track
