2008 Pontiac G5 Overview

Introduction

The Pontiac G5 is a front-wheel drive, five-passenger, two-door coupe that is available in a Base and sporty GT trim.

The G5 Base trim comes with a 148 hp 2.2 liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine and the GT comes with a 171 hp 2.4 liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine. Both engines are mated to either a five-speed manual or an optional four-speed automatic transmission. The Base trim's standard equipment includes: a rear spoiler, 15-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, satellite radio, power mirrors, windows and door locks with remote keyless entry. The GT trim adds: a sport-tuned suspension, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, 17-inch forged alloy wheels, Pioneer speakers, cruise control and Onstar.

For 2008, the G5 added side curtain airbags for the front and rear passengers and a tire pressure monitoring system to standard equipment.
