DONT Buy this car
I about a 2010 altima in 2011. After only 6 months of owning this car I have had major problems with the transmission. We are driving to Rocky Point Mexico and after driving for 2 1/2hrs at about 65 miles per hr, we came to a complete stop at the border. Once we were cleared to go the car had NO acceleration. I pushed the gas pedal all the way to the floor and the car was only going no more than 10 miles per hr. It wook a good 50 ft of driving before the car started to accelerate. After we reached the resort and the car sat for several hrs it worked as normal, but only to do this again on our way home. I called Nissan and they are well aware of this issue but it not a recall and the car is no longer under warrenty. I refuse to pay for this myself since Nissan knows this is a manufacture flaw. I know several other people w/the smae yr and model and have had the same problem, their transmission was replaced under the warrenty. After only owning the car for less then a year I traded it in for a toyota Tacom. I will NEVER buy a Nissan again!!!
I have been having problems with that CVT transmission. If I am driving in the city it is great, no problems there. Although once I leave the city and enter the highway, it is another ball game. I recently took a trip which required us to drive at a steady 75mph. As i came to an exit for gas and munchies and stopped at an intersection, the moment that it was my turn to cross, the car bagan to buck..yeah you heard it. without energy from the engine, although the pedal was to the floor and the engine was almost at 6000RPM; we moved at snail speed. Everyone honked as us to move quicker but even with moving the pedal up or down the car would not move. panic set and i moved the shifter to manual thinking it would make a difference but it didn't do a difference. We took it in for servicing immediately and they told me "nothing is wrong with your car sir", there are no trouble codes in the system. I told them what happened and they told me to "video" tape the problem because they did not believe me. I should have taken written statements from the honkers that day, maybe the techs would have believed it then. I thought this would be a dependable car ************ it is an inch from leaving me without power. Anyone help, if anyone knows of anyone with the same issues that I am having let me know. Thanks in advance, and getting more upset with this CVT tranny by the day, Gabe.

2010 Nissan Altima Coupe
My second Altima. When I bought my '02 Altima Sedan people didn't know what it was and it turned heads! My '10 Coupe is doing the same thing, design is awesome, the color(Crimson Black)is dramatic. Just remember it is a coupe, ie 2 doors means only 2 people! Interior is very functional, the heated leather seats are very nice. I found the auto temp control to be odd as the AC is always on (to dehumidify the air coming in). Not using that now, I think this will improve my gas mileage which isn't bad at 28 MPG overall. The CVT Transmission took me a little time to understand. Very nice, quiet and a bit hard to complain about. Put it in 'Manaul Mode' and have some fun.....Great Car!!!!
Review of 2010 Nissan Altima
We are happily driving our 5th Altima! Thats 16 years of true satisfaction ! That says it all
Great automobile, Love It.
Traded in a 2008 Sentra which was a great little car.Wanted to upgrade and the altima has exceeded all my expectitations. From the powerfull V-4 (175 hp)to all the comfort and conviences. The Bose radio with XM is just fantastic. So far I'm averaging 31 mpg in highway and city driving. The CTV transmission is a dream to drive with it's smoothness and response. I will update as I get more miles.
