This car is awesome! I just recently sold the vehicle to my sister in law with 240,500 miles on it. It has been such a reliable good car. It has never left me stranded or left me feeling unsafe. This car is very inexpensive to maintain and is easy to maintain. I have literally driven this car across the USA up and down except to the pacific northwest and upper ****************** looks beautiful and am sad to see it go, but I am moving on up to it's bigger sister, the Maxima. I would highly recommend this vehicle to anyone!
Review of 2005 Nissan Altima
I filed a complaint with Nissan North America regarding extensive rust damage on my 2005 Altima 3.5 SE with 67,000 mi. After being referred to my dealership for an investigation a nice rep with Nissan Regional Consumer Affairs says that unfortunately my warranty doesn't cover rust after 5 years. I asked if its Nissans position that I was negligent in the maintenance? How else would you explain a 6 year old low-mileage vehicle having extensive rust issues? Shouldnt they at least admit to partial responsibility and help with the cost of repairs? Everything on my car is still like new except premature rusting through the floorboards on both the driver's side and passenger side. I explained I've diligently maintained this vehicle with the hopes of it lasting for years based on the reputation of imported cars. It's been garaged during most inclement weather since I have an old beater pickup to drive in the snow or rain. I explained how shocked I was when I saw all the complaints, forums, and blogs regarding this issue. There seems to be a problem either with the material (Durasteel) or the manufacturing process of all the Gen 3 and 4 Altimas that allows water to infiltrate between the metal on the floorboards causing premature rust through. There are plastic plugs that apparently become dislodged or are not installed correctly. Nissan will not stand behind their product and help with the repairs. Nissan has been required to extend the warranty on the rear subframe so they already know there is a huge issue with the metals they're using. I'm going to continue to watch as I anticipate a class-action lawsuit soon. Regardless, I will never own another Nissan. If you check and find youre in the same boat, please call Nissan Consumer Affairs @ 800-647-7261 and ask to file a complaint. Don't waste time waitingfor a reply like I did. Ask for the number for the Better Business Bureau and file there as well. The rep will gladly give it to you.
If you need heat, look somewhere else
My mom bought a 2005 Altima 2 years ago. She loved it until the winter months arrived. It will not heat until it is driven so far. She came up on an accident one day and had to sit for 30 minutes. She was cold before she could get going again.

my son and i recently purchased 05 nissan altima s which my son nicknamed the silver bullet/ drives great & looks great!! i really got a good deal and beautiful car the ride is smooth and quiet shines like new money!! M. Terrel
