The Mitsubishi Lancer is a sporty compact sedan, combining advanced user and safety technologies with stylish design and a fun-to-drive character.
The Lancer is available in three trim levels with front-wheel drive - DE, ES and GT - and two with All Wheel Control (AWC) - SE and Ralliart. The DE and ES are equipped with a 148-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, while the SE and GT get a more powerful 168-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine; available transmissions include a five-speed manual and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The Ralliart boasts a 237-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, paired to a six-speed Twin-Clutch Sportronic Shift transmission (TC-SST) with paddle shifters. Building on the value-oriented DE trim, the ES is equipped with a 60/40 split folding rear seat, air conditioning, cruise control and an auxiliary audio input jack; SE trims add 16-inch aluminum wheels and heated front seats (standard on SE only). The GT is further outfitted with a rear wing spoiler, fog lights, sport-tuned suspension, 18-inch aluminum wheels, automatic climate control, Bluetooth wireless connectivity and a FAST-key passive entry system, as well as Mitsubishi's FUSE hands-free communication system, including voice-activated audio streaming and a USB port. The Ralliart gets an even more exclusive treatment, showcasing unique exterior and interior trim elements, along with satellite radio. Standard safety features on every Lancer include stability and traction control systems, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes with brake assist, a tire pressure monitor and seven airbags. New for 2012, a rearview camera system is now offered on the GT and Ralliart.
The Mitsubishi Lancer carries over with minor changes for 2012. Revisions include new wheel designs, seat upholstery and instrument panel trim; additionally, the GTS trim has been renamed the GT. Big news for this model year is the introduction of a new SE trim with driver-selectable All Wheel Control (AWC).
