The Eclipse has two trims: GS and GT. A 162-hp 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or four-speed automatic with manual shift mode. A 265-hp 3.8-liter V6 engine powers the GT and comes with a six-speed manual or a five-speed automatic. Standard safety features include frontal-impact, side-impact and side curtain airbags, anti-lock brakes, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
For 2009, the Mitsubishi Eclipse has refreshed front and rear bumper fascias. The GT gains dual exhaust, HID headlamps, stability control, and a large rear spoiler.
