1999 Mercury Sable Overview

Introduction

The Mercury Sable is a full size sedan that is essentially, a great buy.

The Sable is a full size sedan capable of carrying up to five passengers. It features 4 models, a four-door sedan and a four-door station wagon, with two trim levels, GS and LS. The Sable is powered by a 3.0-liter V-6 engine that produces either 145 hp @ 5,250 rpm or 200 hp @ 5,750 rpm. This power is controlled by a 4-speed automatic transmission that puts it to the ground through a front-wheel drive. Fuel economy on the Sable ranges from 18 mpg to 20 mpg for city driving, and 26 mpg to 28 mpg for highway driving, depending on the trim level. Safety features that are available include: front-disc/rear drum brakes, dual-front airbags, and cruise control. ABS, leather trims and bright aluminum wheels are optional on all models.

The Mercury Sable receives some minor upgrades for 1999.
