2006 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Overview

Introduction

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has everything the world expects in a full-size luxury sedan. It remains the ultra-luxury car against which other ultra-luxury aspirants are judged.

The S500 seats up to five occupants in it's full-leather interior. Other standard features include: a navigation system and a Bose audio system. It is powered by a 302 hp 5.0-liter V-8 engine and a standard seven-speed automatic transmission in the rear-wheel drive model. On models with 4Matic, a five-speed automatic transmission replaces the seven-speed. Safety features include side-impact airbags, side-curtain airbags, and an electric stability program that is comprised of traction control with lateral skid-control.

For 2006, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class receives a 4Matic all-wheel drive and an AMG Sport Package as no-cost options for certain models. Other minor amenities change for different models.
