2001 Mercedes-Benz M-Class Overview

Introduction

The ML-Class SUV is the original luxury sport utility in the Mercedes-Benz lineup. Comfortably sized, it seats five with room for plenty of luggage, drives like a sedan, and is a capable off-roader.

Equipped with a 5-speed automatic transmission and electronically managed all-wheel drive, the ML-class is available in three models. The ML320 is powered by a 3.2L V-6 engine generating 215 hp @ 5,600 rpm and 233 lb-ft of torque @ 3,000 rpm. The ML430 is powered by Mercedes' 4.3L V-8 engine that produces 268 hp @ 5,500 rpm and 288 lb-ft of torque @ 3,000 rpm. The top of the line ML55 AMG uses a 5.4L V-8 engine that has an output of 342 hp @ 5,500 rpm and 376 lb-ft of torque @ 2,800 rpm.

For 2008, the extensively equipped M-Class includes standard features such as traction control as well as front and side airbags.
