2000 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Overview
Introduction
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedans and wagons are safe, luxurious, and fast.
The solidly built, comfortable E-Class sedans, which come standard with rear-wheel drive, are available in three trim models: the E320, which is also available as a wagon; E430; and E55 AMG. The E320 and E430 are also available with all-wheel drive, and all models come equipped with a 5-speed automatic transmission. A 3.2 L V-6 engine, which produces 221 hp @ 5600 rpm and 232 lb-ft @ 3000 rpm, powers the E320, while a 4.3 L V-8 engine, which outputs 275 hp @ 5750 rpm and 295 lb-ft @ 3000 rpm, propels the E430. The E55 AMG, on the other hand, comes with a 5.4 L V-8 engine, which ups the performance of the E-Class to 349 hp @ 5500 rpm and 391 lb-ft @ 3000 rpm. The E320 wagons seat up to seven, while the sedans seat five passengers. All E-Class models come with a lengthy list of standard features including: an integrated portable telephone, a 6-disc CD changer, and rain sensor wipers. For 2000, the E-Class receives only minimal changes.Next Steps »
