1999 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Overview
Introduction
The Mercedes-Benz C-Class remains the most accessible of all its models sold in the United States. The model range delivers the expected levels of smart engineering, design and safety features within the price range of loaded mass-market, midsize sedans.
The C230 is powered by a 2.3L inline 4-cylinder engine with 185 hp @ 5,300 rpm and 200 lb-ft of torque @ 2,500 rpm while a more powerful 2.8L 194 hp @ 5,800 rpm V-6 engine powers the C280. The C43 receives the most power via a 4.3L V-8 engine that produces 302 hp @ 5,850 rpm and 302 lb-ft of torque @ 3,250 rpm. All C-Class models come with front- and side-impact airbags as well as traction control and 4-wheel antilock disc brakes. The C-Class receives a new engine for the C230 in 1999 along with additional minor changes.Next Steps »
