2001 Mercedes-Benz CL-Class Overview

Introduction

The Mercedes-Benz CL-Class is the perfect vehicle for those who want a luxurious, athletic rear-wheel drive coupe.

Available in three models, the CL-Class is a 2-door grand touring coupe with seating for four. The CL500 is powered by a 5.0L V-8 engine, which outputs 302 hp @ 5500 rpm and 339 lb-ft @ 3000 rpm, and a 5-speed automatic transmission. The CL600 includes a 5.8L V-12 engine, which produces 362 hp @ 5500 rpm and 391 lb-ft @ 4100 rpm, and a 5-speed automatic transmission. Standard safety features on both models include front and side airbags and traction control. Optional on the CL-Class is an adaptive damping suspension system, voice-activated cellular phone technology and a navigation system. For those who want the complete AMG experience, a great option would be the CL55 AMG model which boasts 349 hp @ 5500 rpm and 391 lb-ft @ 3150 rpm.

The CL Class carries over with minimal changes as there was a redesign of the CL-Class in 2000.
