2005 Mazda Mazda6 Review Summaries

What reviewers liked most about the Mazda Mazda6:

Most impressive is the 6's steering, which feels as if it took a few lessons at the Miata finishing school. Turn-in is sharp, and the variable-assist rack-and-pinion system provides good feedback and little need for correction at higher speeds.

-- Automobile

The titanium-finish dash features round gauges and chrome accents, and controls are easy to find and operate.

-- AutoWeb

Complementing the steering is its all-independent suspension, composed of double wishbones in the front and multiple links in the rear.

-- Edmunds.com

The Mazda 6i is a hoot to drive.

-- New Car Test Drive

We found the seats especially comfortable for fast driving through the suburbs and exurbs, with lots of good upper body support, and enough lower back support with the standard lumbar adjuster to keep you happy all day.

-- New Car Test Drive

What reviewers liked least about the Mazda Mazda6:

The other minor shortcoming is that an auto-down/up feature is available only for the driver's window.

-- Edmunds.com

We like Mazda's talk of connecting emotionally with customers. But we're not sure they've reached far enough with the 6 to grab the attention they need.

-- Motor Trend

Mazda Mazda6 Comparisons:

The Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry seem airier and spacious, but it's really a matter of taste, as some prefer a snug environment, especially when piloting a sporty vehicle.

-- Edmunds.com

It's more agile and holds the road better than other mid-size sedans, such as the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, and Nissan Altima.

-- New Car Test Drive

Best one-liner about the Mazda Mazda6:

And, if you're a driving enthusiast, it's guaranteed you'll experience 'The Joy of 6'!

-- AutoWeb

After four generations of maturation and development, and considerable help from Ford Motor Company, the zoom-zoom guys have really put a fine point on it this time.
