2006 Mazda Mazda3 Overview

Introduction

The Mazda 3 is Mazda's spirited, 5-seater compact car that is roomy, affordable, and fun to drive. It comes as both a tour-door sedan or a five-door hatchback. Among competition from Toyota and Honda, the Mazda 3 has proven to be popular, stylish, and in line with the Mazda idea or sportiness.

The Mazda 3s features a free-revving 2.3-liter engine that delivers spirited performance and the Mazda 3i benefits with a 2.0-liter engine. The five-speed manual transmission shifts easily for new drivers and there's an automatic available with a manual-shift feature. Side-curtain airbags and anti-lock brakes are standard on some models and available on all. Most equipment is optional, including power windows, locks and mirrors, remote keyless entry; cruise control, a height-adjustable driver's seat, six-speaker audio system, 16-inch cast aluminum wheels, variable-intermittent windshield wipers, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, brighter interior upholstery and trim, electroluminescent gauges that adjust for intensity, and delayed courtesy lights.

For 2006, the 2.0-liter engine in the Mazda 3i benefits from increased power.

The Mazda Mazda3 is a premium automobile, exciting to drive, styled adventurously, and fully equipped with luxury features.

The Mazdaspeed3 five-door comes with a 263-hp turbocharged 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine, five-speed manual transmission, limited-slip differential, stability control and 215/45YR18 tires.

For 2007, Mazda has upgraded the appearance both inside and outside the Mazda3. The body shell, chassis rigidity, and suspension have also been tuned. A Mazdaspeed3 trim also joins the lineup.
