2009 Mazda B4000 Overview
Introduction
The B4000, named for its engine displacement of 4.0 liters, is part of Mazda's compact pickup line and is closely related to the Ford Ranger.
The B4000 is available in one body style, Cab Plus 4-door. Power is delivered from a 207-hp 4.0-liter V6 mated to either a five-speed automatic or five-speed manual transmission, while electronic-shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive and low-range gearing provide towing and off-road capability. Its raised suspension uses torsion-bar front springs. Rear-hinged back doors are unique to the Cab Plus. Safety features include dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes and a tire pressure monitor system.
For 2009, the SE trim level has been eliminated, and a trailer hitch is now standard equipment.
NHTSA Frontal Crash Test
NHTSA rates crash-tested vehicles by assigning them one to five stars, with five stars indicating the most injury protection and one star indicating the least protection.
