2007 MINI Cooper S Overview
Introduction
The MINI Cooper S provides a satisfying combination of peppy performance, a distinctive bulldog appearance, and custom ordering of a variety of trim and color options at a very reasonable price.
The Mini Cooper S is equipped with a turbocharged version of the 1.6 liter four-cylinder engine, stiffer Sport suspension, performance exhaust system, and 16-inch alloy wheels; 17-inch wheels are optional. Exterior design details, including a black grille inset, hood scoop, rear bumper insets and prominent rear spoiler wing, distinguish the S from the Cooper. (The convertible, unchanged from the 2006 models, is available in 168-hp supercharged Cooper S form.) All models are front-wheel drive. Both hatchback models come standard with six-speed manual transmissions; a six-speed automatic transmission with Steptronic controls is optional.
For 2007, the MINI Cooper S hardtop is completely new, while the convertible is a carryover from 2006.
