2002 MINI Cooper S Overview

Introduction

The MINI Cooper S is the performance model of the standard MINI Cooper.

The Cooper S is equipped with a 1.6L supercharged inline 4-cylinder engine, which significantly increases its power to 163 hp @ 6000 rpm and 155 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm. As well, the Cooper S is an easily recognizable vehicle because of its numerous added features, small size, and unique 2-door hatchback design. The S version is also distinguishable by its functional hood scoop, body-colored bumpers, and ā€œSā€ badges on the front and back. The Cooper S is only available in one trim level and has a 6-speed manual transmission. Safety features on the S include standard all-disc ABS, and 6 airbags.

For 2002, several package upgrades are available such as the Sport Package which includes optional black or white bonnet stripes, dynamic stability control, fog lamps, xenon headlights, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
