2008 Lotus Exige Overview
Introduction
The Lotus Exige is a small British sports coupe made for drivers who strive for performance in everyday driving as well as on the track. The Lotus Exige is available in three trims: the S, the new S 240 and the new S Club Racer.
The Exige's incredible handling is made possible by a bonded extruded aluminum chassis, four-wheel-independent suspension, Eibach coil springs, Bilstein gas shock absorbers, AP Racing/Brembo brakes, multi-spoke alloy wheels, and Yokohama performance tires. The Exige S and Club Racer are powered by a supercharged 220 hp 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with a six-speed manual transmission. The S 240 uses the same supercharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder, but power is bumped up to 240 horsepower. The available Touring Pack includes full leather seats, upgraded stereo system with iPodĀ® connector, stowage net, additional sound insulation and full carpet set. The optional Track Pack provides adjustable Bilstein shocks with remote front reservoirs. A limited-slip differential is also available. The limited-edition Club Racer is featured in blue exterior with contrasting black center tri-stripes, Microfibre seats and door panels, uprated 4-piston AP front calipers and pads, an Alpine sound system, and fog lamps.
For 2008, upgrades to the Lotus Exige include a new instrument display with a high-definition LCD message panel and a new integrated ignition key design. The S 240 and the S Club Racer are new for 2008.
