Good performance, but defective paint

The car performs very well; the ride is excellent and the handling is good. However, from when the car was new I have had problems with the ******************* for no apparent reason and chips when there is no other mark or dent where it was dinged. Other Lexus owners have complained, but Lexus (though a service tech admitted they have had problems with the black paint) will not stand behind their product. I have complained, went to mediation, but they say it is normal. This is not normal an…

Great car, but paint problems

I purchased new a black 2005 SC430. The car drives beautifully, is smooth, quick and has a wonderful ride. HOWEVER, the PAINT has been a major disappointment since the car was new -- it chips, scratches for no apparent reason, peeled in one spot -- and with the white undercoat looks terrible. I know of a number of other complaints relative to the black paint, but Lexus has not lived up to their reputation for standing behind their product, so I am left with a flawed paint job on an otherwise…
