The LFA is Lexus' first foray into the world of supercar construction. Power and light-weight drove the design process.

A F1-inspired 4.8-liter V10 produces 553-hp and revs to 9000 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed Automated Sequential Gearbox (ASG) with steering column mounted paddle shifters. A 48:52 front-to-rear weight distribution was achieved through the use of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic construction techniques. The exterior features 20-inch forged alloy wheels, an automatically deployed power wing, and a flat underbody which help the LFA achieve a drag coefficient of 0.31. The interior is trimmed in carbon fiber, leather and forged aluminum pedals. Ceramic four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, driver's side knee airbag and inflatable seatbelts are just some of the safety features offered.

The Lexus LFA is a new vehicle for 2012.
