The Kia Rio is a subcompact that is inexpensive, stylish and a spacious little car. It delivers sprightly performance, great fuel economy and agile handling.
The Kia Rio is front-wheel drive with independent front suspension, a semi-independent rear suspension, 14-inch wheels on the Base and LX trims, 15-inch on the SX trim, and front stabilizer bar. It runs on a 110 hp 1.6-liter four-cylinder with continuously variable valve timing. The power is controlled by a five-speed manual or an optional four-speed automatic (excluding the base trim). Safety features include seat-mounted side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags and front seat belt pretensioners.
For 2008, the Rio carries over with little change.
