Introduction

The Kia Rio is a subcompact, inexpensive, stylish and spacious little car. It delivers sprightly performance, great fuel economy and agile handling.

The Kia Rio comes in sedan and wagon models, both of which offer the option of either 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmissions. The vehicle runs on a 1.6L 4-cylinder engine, which produces 104 hp @ 5800 rpm and 104 lb-ft @ 4700 rpm, and averages 24 mpg city/31 mpg highway. Safety features on the Kia include seat-mounted side-impact airbags, though anti-lock breaks are not available. The Kia Rio is front-wheel drive vehicle with independent front suspension, and semi-independent rear suspension on 14-inch tires.

For 2005, the Rio carries over with little change.
