My wife and I were looking for a larger vehicle that seated seven and had 4WD. I was looking on line comparing vehicles when I came across the Jeep Commander. I was intrigued because we had been wanting a Jeep for quite some time but I never knew that Jeep made a 7 passenger vehicle. I also found out that 2010 was the last year for the Commander. The Commander is available with a 3.7 V6 or a 5.7 Hemi V8. Having already owned a vehicle with a Hemi (2007 MegaCab) I can attest that the fuel mileage was abysmal so I knew I didn't want another one. So searching dealers inventory I found that there were only a handful of new V6 Commanders left on the entire west coast. One was located only a few hours from the dealer I was working with. The incentives that were available were to expire the next day so the dealer holding the Commander was highly motivated to transfer it to my dealer. I ended up getting the vehicle for 12K off MSRP. The V6 is no powerhouse by any means but it moves the Commander around just fine. My mileage so far has been good. I've been getting between 20-21 MPG on the highway and between 16-17 MPG around town. I believe that once the engine is broke in I should be able to get around 22-23 MPG on the highway. It is extremely quiet and well insulated from road noise. The seating is very comfortable. Although there is not a lot of room for 3rd row passengers, my kids really enjoy the seperate temperature controls. The stereo is great and I really like the driving position. All in all we are very pleased with our Jeep Commander and are extremely happy with our purchase.
