2006 Hyundai Santa Fe Overview

Introduction

The Hyundai Santa Fe blends the best attributes of traditional SUVs with a driving character like that of a mid-sized sedan and offers extensive convenience, safety, and trim features that come standard.

The Santa Fe is available in two trim levels: GLS and Limited. Both levels come standard with front-wheel drive, but four-wheel drive is available for all models. The GLS is powered by a 2.7-liter V6 engine, coupled to a four-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic manual shift control. It is also available with a 3.5-liter V6 engine with five-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic manual override. The Limited comes standard with leather upholstery and the 3.5-liter V6 and five-speed Shiftronic automatic transmission. Safety features on all Santa Fe models include dual front airbags and front-seat mounted side airbags; four-wheel disc brakes; an anti-lock braking system with Electronic Brake-force Distribution; and traction control.

For 2006, the the Hyundai Santa Fe's top trim level is the Limited (replacing the LX).

The Santa Fe is a so-called crossover SUV, meaning it's built like a car, using unibody construction instead of the body-on-frame construction of a traditional truck. It's a practical vehicle for everyday use.

The Santa Fe is larger than before and now offers third-row seating, for up to seven passengers. It comes in three trim levels: GLS, SE, and Limited. All-wheel-drive is offered as an option on all models. The seven-passenger Touring Package includes a folding third-row seat with auxiliary climate control. Safety features that come standard on all models include dual front airbags, front seat side-impact airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints. Active safety features include antilock brakes, electronic stability control, traction control, and a tire-pressure monitoring system.

For 2007, the Hyundai Santa Fe is completely redesigned.

The Santa Fe is a so-called crossover SUV, meaning it's built like a car, using unibody construction instead of the body-on-frame construction of a traditional truck. Also, its available seven-passenger seating makes the Santa Fa a practical vehicle for everyday use.

The Santa Fe is offered in three trims: GLS, SE, and Limited. Choices of two engines are available. One engine is a 185 hp 2.7-liter V6 engine teamed with five-speed manual transmission (four-speed automatic optional). The other is a 242 hp 3.3-liter V6 teamed with a five-speed automatic transmission. The Santa Fe is available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive. Standard safety features include airbags, antilock brakes, traction control active front head restraints, and an electronic stability control.

New for 2008, the Hyundai Santa Fe SE trim now features premium cloth seats. A power tilt-and-slide sunroof and upgraded audio system are standard on the Limited trim.

The Santa Fe crossover is a stylish family vehicle that has the ability to transport up to seven passengers when properly equipped.

The Santa Fe is available in front- or all-wheel drive, both with three trim levels: GLS, SE, and Limited. Power for the GLS trim comes from a 185-hp 2.7-liter V6 engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission on the front-wheel drive, and a four-speed automatic with the all-wheel drive. The SE and Limited trims receive a 242-hp 3.3-liter V6 engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Standard safety features include six airbags, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control with traction control, active front head restraints, and tire pressure monitoring system.
