2006 Hyundai Elantra Overview
Introduction
The Hyundai Elantra is a comfortable sedan/hatchback and is fun to drive. An exceptional value, it's comparable to competitors costing thousands more.
The Elantra is offered in two body styles and three trim levels. The GLS is available as a four-door sedan or a five-door hatchback, while the sporty GT is available as a five-door hatch. It is also available this year in a new Limited sedan model with premium trim. All Elantra models share the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. A five-speed manual transmission is standard and an automatic transmission is optional. Safety features that come standard on all models include dual frontal airbags and front seat-mounted side-impact airbags. Three-point seat belts are used for all five seating positions; the front seatbelts feature pretensioners, force limiters and adjustable-height shoulder anchors. ABS and traction control are part of the Premium Package available for all models.
For 2006, The Hyundai Elantra is available in an upscale Limited trim.
