Introduction
The Honda Civic is the car that for years set the quality and performance standard for the affordable, compact car market. It now has the appealing style to match its reliable and excellent economic specifications.
The Civic has no fewer than four models, two coupes and two sedans. Three of the coupes and three of the sedans, the DX, the LX and the EX models, share a 140-horsepower, 1.8-liter inline four-cylinder with a standard five-speed manual transmission and an optional five-speed automatic. A performance-oriented coupe, the Si, comes with a 197-horsepower, 2.0-liter inline-4 fitted with a six-speed manual. It includes important safety features like antilock brakes and side-impact airbags as standard equipment.
For 2006, the Honda Civic has been fully redesigned.

Standard safety features on all Civics include antilock brakes, six airbags, active front head restraints and tire pressure monitoring.
For 2008, the Honda Civic adds an EX-L trim, available with optional navigation system, and standard tire pressure monitoring on all trims. Also, Honda introduces the Si Mugen sedan, which is a joint venture by Honda and Mugen Motorsports.

For 2009, the Honda Civic gets refreshed exterior styling and new optional tech features, while the sedan adds two new trims, a DX-VP (Value Package) and an LX-S.
After the 2009 refresh, the Civic rolls into 2010 with no changes.

NHTSA rates crash-tested vehicles by assigning them one to five stars, with five stars indicating the most injury protection and one star indicating the least protection.
