Bad AC design
The car is quite reliable, with the exception of the air conditioning. The pump broke at about 64,000 miles, and the dealer quoted $3200 to replace it. He also said that the entire system would need to be replaced, including hoses, radiator, and heat exchanger. Not a good sign of a well-engineered car.
Reliable, consistent fuel economy
I have over 200,000 miles in this std 5 speed all-wheel drive car. I have used it for commuting, camping, hauling 3+ teenagers around. This car is RELIABLE!. I have had 24 mpg since the day I bought it new. Sun, rain, and snow (sometimes 12+inches with no problems - snow tires though) The only issue is that the engine needs 1 qt of oil added each month. I never had this looked at as it would cost more than the few bucks a month to keep it topped up. I plan to use this for the next 3-4 years and end up around 350K miles. Then go out and buy another Honda.

My 1999 was perfect till a chevy took it out.

I have never enjoyed a car like I enjoy CR-Vs. Easy in and easy out, full range of vision, low maintenance, high preformance on demand, they hold their resale value and the arm rest make setting in the front seat more comfortable than any car I've ever ridden in.

I was hit three times by the same driver and ended up three feet in the air on an aluminum median strip. My 1999 CR-V was totaled but I was belted in and here to tell about it. I could buy any car I want...so I did! I bought a red pearl 2003 CR-V. Thx Honda.
