2008 HUMMER H3 SUV Overview

Introduction

The HUMMER H3 SUV is a mid-sized, five-passenger sport utility vehicle that carries the military-inspired design cues and amazing off-road capabilities of the HUMMER H1 and H2, but puts them in a smaller, more affordable package.

The base H3 and H3X are powered by a 242-hp, 3.5-liter, inline five-cylinder engine bolted to a 5-speed manual transmission. The H3 Alpha brings V-8 power for increased towing and stronger acceleration. Standard safety features include: anti-lock brakes, stability and traction control, frontal and curtain side-impact airbags, OnStar and a tire-pressure monitoring system.

For 2008, the HUMMER H3 adds the 300-hp V-8 powered Alpha to the line-up.

NHTSA Frontal Crash Test

NHTSA rates crash-tested vehicles by assigning them one to five stars, with five stars indicating the most injury protection and one star indicating the least protection.

  • Driver Front:5
  • Passenger Front:4
