2006 GMC Yukon Overview
Introduction
The GMC Yukon is GMC's full sized sport utility vehicle. Similar to the Chevrolet Suburban, the GMC is large, well-powered, and provides much cargo space.
The Yukon seats seven to nine passengers depending on seating options and is rated to tow as much as 7,700 to 8,100 pounds when properly equipped, enough to tow cars, boats and horses. The Yukon is powered by a standard 285-horsepower 4.8-liter V8. A 295-horsepower 5.3-liter V8 is optional. Four trim levels are available for the GMC Yukon: SLE, SLT, SLT Plus, and Denali, which boasts a 6.0-liter V-8 generating 380 horsepower equipped with a six-speed automatic. Available options include a premium Bose system, a floor console, and assist steps, power-adjustable pedals, XM Satellite Radio, StabiliTrak electronic stability control, and side-impact airbags.
Changes for 2006 are minimal.
