Review: 2005 GMC Sierra Ext Cab 4x4 k1500

I purchased this vehicle new with 912 miles. I lifted the front end about an inch to even out the ride height and fit a slightly bigger tire. the tires are bf goodrich all-terrain P275 75 R17. It is a slightly larger tire than specified but with the torsion bar adjustment i lifted the front enough for the tires to clear the plastic fender guards. Pros: pulls trailors easily, decent gas mileage for a 5.3 V8( 15-18 mpg), front bench seat is spacious. I wish cupholders would have been located on fold down center arm rest. electrics works nicely. 4x4 push button works great! i have used it on snow ice and rain and the truck handles itself nicely. the antilock brakes keep the truck on track as well. Cons: 1. rear 1/4 windows in the ext cab are very noisy at highway speeds especially during crosswinds! there are fixes but you have to search for them. i just purchased slightly smaller rods to pull the glass closer to the weatherstripping. (common problem for 99-06 GM trucks)People say with this small 40 dollar (over priced) item, it will eliminate the noise. i just purchased and am confident it will quiet the noise. 2. the ext cab is convenient with the rear seat and can tightly fit 3 people, after driving the truck over 45,000 miles, i wish i would have purchased a full crew cab. 3. Weatherstripping in the doors seems to slide off. not a big problem just rather annoying, usually just needs glue. the engine is powerful, the enterior is neat, organized and easy to use. The seats are comfortable and the fold up rear seat is a nice feature. my paint color is the silver birch and after 4 year the glow is still there. The ride is not the most comfortable, but i would not call it uncomfortable. I would say GMC is not known for their styling but the interior gets the job done as it has all the needed aminities of electronics and gadets that make the drive more pleasureable. I like the look of the truck and enjoy driving it.

This is a very useful truck. I really love the fuel economy but the 110 power outlets are the best! I can use power tools with the power from my truck, and Hunting & Camping Is Great with the power supply! Its Just like having a Generator with you! Imagine all the possibilities it has! Great Power, 4x4, Plenty of Interior Room, Loads of Cargo Room, Very Smooth & Comfortable Ride! Impressive Towing Capacity, & Loads Of Features on the SLE Model!
