1999 GMC Savana Overview

Introduction

The GMC Savana is a rugged, durable van capable of transporting several passengers comfortably and, as a cargo van, carrying a large payload.

The Savana is available in three sizes ranging from the G1500 to the G3500, and each size comes standard with RWD. Engine sizes also vary from the basic 4.3L Vortec V-6, which produces 200 hp @ 4400 rpm and 250 lb-ft @ 2800 rpm, to a powerful 7.4 Vortec V-8, which increases the output to 290 hp @ 4000 rpm and 410 lb-ft @ 3200 rpm. Safety features on the Savana include 4-wheel disc brakes with 4-wheel ABS, and front-impact airbags. Customers are also offered their choice of optional equipment such as: a locking differential, drivers side reclining bucket seats, 6-way power seats, rear air conditioning, power locks, and OnStar.

The Savana is a carry-over for 1999.
