2009 GMC Savana 1500 Overview
Introduction
GMC's rear-wheel or all-wheel drive Savana 1500 passenger and cargo vans provide a rugged and durable means of transporting several passengers or a large payload of cargo.
There are three available Vortec engines for the Savana 1500 lineup. A 4.3-liter V6, a 5.3-liter V8 and an E85 FlexFuel 5.3-liter V8. All of the engines are teamed with a four-speed automatic transmission. The Savana 1500 passenger and cargo vans come with a 135-inch wheelbase. The passenger vans have an LS and an LT trim, they come standard with electronic traction and stability control, can accommodate up to 8 passengers and offer several, convenient options. The cargo vans have a Work Van and an Upfitter trim which are an excellent base for a multi-purpose utility vehicle that can be equipped to suit your comfort needs, or modified for your workplace requirements.
For 2009, the GMC Savana 1500 cargo and passenger vans have 17-inch standard wheels and the Upfitter trim on the cargo vans have standard electronic traction and stability control.

NHTSA rates crash-tested vehicles by assigning them one to five stars, with five stars indicating the most injury protection and one star indicating the least protection.
