2005 GMC Safari Overview
Introduction
The GMC Safari passenger and cargo vans are rugged and durable, and come with the capacity to transport several passengers or carry large payloads.
The Safari, which comes in either a RWD or an AWD set-up, offers three trim levels, Base, SLE and SLT, for the passenger vans and two trim levels, Standard and Upfitter, on the work-ready cargo vans. All Safari's are powered by a 4.3L Vortec V-6 engine, which produces 190 hp @ 4400 rpm and 250 lb-ft @ 2800, and a 4-speed automatic transmission. The Safari has an estimated fuel economy that ranges from 16 mpg city and 21 mpg highway for the RWD passenger van to 14 mpg city and 17 mpg highway for the AWD Upfitter cargo van. Some of the available options are a heavy-duty locking differential, leather appointed seating surfaces, rear air conditioning, keyless entry, and an upgraded stereo system. The 2005 Safari remains unchanged from 2004.Next Steps »
