2015 GMC Canyon Cardinal Red 4x4
I live in Southern Illinois. I went to Laura GMC in Collinsville . Crazy there on Friday. I shopped for three weeks. They could not get one to sell. Black, Maroon, and Cardinal colors came in. Then recall came in. Cannot sell until released with repairs. I put money down on sight unseen nor test drive on Cardinal Red All Terrain 4 door Canyon. At 930 am came off truck, PDI at 1230, washed and fueled at 3, and I drove off with one heck of a great deal at 5. It was a crazy day. I did not want a city version like everyone else. My wait paid off. The extra money on the All Terrain is well worth it. There was the issue of an exposed drain plug under the other vehicles. Not so on this model. Fully protected. Would have like the have the lower front black air dam higher up off the ground. For this, I am taking mine off and putting in the attic. If I come across big limbs in the way out on the back woods I travel over it goes. The tow hooks are perfect in location. The tow package is set up perfect for my boat. The red line in the half cloth half leather seats is a great add to detail. The seats are in my opinion more comfortable then the full leather. Those new rims are absolute killer! The added detail is the full paint on all the front end pieces and the frame. The height of the truck with antenna clears my standard size garage with ease. The width was no issue. There is a bit of learning curve with all the new tech toys. If you get one, make sure to adjust your am and fm to your local area where you live. Get familiar with the cockpit BEFORE driving off the lot intro traffic. I Thought it was weird that the dealer had people travel by air to STL and have the Laura GMC send a full time employee go pick them up. There was deals going down all over and sales people were so busy they hardly could keep up with the flow of people. This is truly a fantastic new design on this truck. Don't just think about getting one just do it. The price is really respectful to the product.
2009 GMC Canyon Crew Cab - 4 Cyl. Engine
We bought it at the end of July, 2009, with a "cash for clunkers" trade. The engine performs quite well for a four cylinder powerplant. It would easily zip up to 85mph on freeway if not paying attention to speed. Fit and finish are outstanding -- especially for a GM product. With rebates and clunkers cash, we paid less than a used 2006 model sells for today. (We had wanted a Ford Ranger Crew Cab but unfortunately, they are presently made only in overseas markets. A flashy model is now selling in Australia.) Too bad, but buying the Canyon was a great alternative.
I drove two Sonomas a lot of miles, a 1995 I put 165,000 on and 2000 I put 220,000 on. Hopefully this truck will be as good. It has the extended cab and because it is larger than the Sonoma I went with the Inline five cylinder engine. I do have a problem with some loose trim. The mileage at this point is a little over 20 mpg in mixed interstate and small town driving. I am going to ask the dealer to check the AC at the service date next month, because it just doesn't seem as cold as it should be. The AC in the Sonomas would give you frost bite in August, important in Florida when the air temp can be 95 but on the road it can easily be or 100. Would/Will I buy another? Maybe if I live long enough. Since I live out of town and have some land I do haul trash to the dump, but I haven't put a lot of weight in the truck. I have not tried towing with it.
2009 Canyon 4 door Crew Cab 5.3L V8
We just purchased the 2009 Canyon Crew Cab with the V8. We got a great deal and the truck is awesome. The body fit and interior trim is precise and the 5.3L V8 (Gen IV LH8) must have under-rated horsepower figures because this truck is powerful, quick and nimble. I have been driving a 2000 S-10 extreme since I bought it new and thought it was the greatest, but this Canyon feels lighter and more responsive. The on demand torque and power pushes it effortlessly down the road. The new ZQ8 Sport suspension provides a smooth, no body roll ride. I couldn't be happier.
I TRADED IN MY FORD RANER 4X4 FOR THIS TRUCK , AND BOY AM I GLAD I DID . GREAT TRUCK !
eats the gas
i like the truck but with gas prices now i am looking to trade mine in.
