First off to the people who DONT actually own the car, please stop writing "Owner Reviews." I love this car, so much attention to detail went into this Taurus. I love the sharp interior which has made leaps over previous Taurus models. This car will no longer be a rental car fleet staple!

The new Taurus has a very harsh city street ride.It is way over suspended for under 40 MPH speeds. If you are looking for a smooth city ride, forget it.I know, I bought one.

The new Taurus looks too much like the ugly Chrysler 300 series my neighbor has. Where is the signature taurus "dimples" I love my 1996 Taurus. It drives like a charm and no major repairs. The style is sleek and I love the look after a fresh waxing. The new Taurus looks like a big boat, tall doors with squinty windows. What were they thinking. (Ever see the bad guys car on the old speed racer cartoons?). I'm sorry to say I will not be buying that model when the time comes. I plan on driving the one I have until it dies beyond repair.

Im commenting on FORD's presentation of the FORD Taurus at the auto show ... they had the doors locked on all of the models in an arena where other car makers were otherwise encouraging you to try and feel their cars. Its like it was a Lamborgini or something. It irritated me that I had to wait for a show person to come around and demonstrate this car to me. I just walked over from the Nissan showcase and nearly climbed all over their cars! THis is where the American auto makers get it wrong everytime. People are informed now and they come into thew dealership knowing the invoice and knowing what they should pay but yet the dealership trys to rip your head off and throw you a term like 5000$ down 579$ /mo for 73 months . LOL good luck with gen X doing that. I hope the best for FORD but they have a long way to go before people warm up to them again. GM And CHY are benefitting from Government sponsorship in terms of financing their cars which is putting FORD in a bad position so they have an uphill battle. About Union based american car firms - Did you know that the contracts that GM and others write up with their suppliers state they must drop the cost of the parts 5% annually for the term of the contract? THis ulitmately means the cars become crap over time as substitute materials are used - cheap aluminum, cheap rubber etc... it all adds up to crap cars. Ever wonder why your rotors on your Grand PRix rust within a day of non-use while your neighbors BMW roptors are made of virtual stainless steel? You can blame the union for the automaker requireing this concession from the suppliers so they can continue to give everyone raises . I know this as I worked for a firm that was under this stipulation (Carlisle) and instead of suppling GM with good rubber for headlight seals and window seals - we eventually sent them the equivelant of chewing gum in a black hue . LOL Hopefully this has been rectified but it offers a clue as to what has been happening.

Had the opportunity to keep a new show for a weekend and I must say a hell of a car..... I especially like the engine trans combination paddle shift 5 speed. My wife loves the interior, radio nav and especially the sync system. We passed on our other choices and ordered a new black SHO to be delivered next month. we'll update review after we get it for a while. ps all my neighbors and friends checked it out and agreed it's a hot set of wheels ..... not an old mans car.

This is what America can do when we put or minds to it. A refined ride, not just mush for the test drive .With great fit and finish and if you look at Ford's quality it is equal to or better than Toyota now. If you want to ride in a Tiny ,tin can deathtrap to get maybe 5-10 more mpg Knock yourself out (or hug a tree). Or try a Fusion . If you get in this car and drive it hard ,you will forget all about Cammry and Accord etc. The engine begs you to open it up with smooth power all through the bandwith. Room enough for everyone and everything. (try that in your "hybird"30-5 vs 40-2) I'm getting a couple of these. T

Where's the hybrid model? The same hybrid technology offered in the Ford Escape should be offered in the Ford Taurus/SHO. I like the style of the car; however, I want better gas mileage. Thanks, but no thanks.
