2006 Ford Taurus Overview

Introduction

The Ford Taurus offers excellent drivetrains, good looks, plenty of creature comforts, and the added bonus of a surprising level of driving pleasure.

The Taurus comes in only two trim levels: SE and SEL. The SE can seat up to six people with its front bench seat. The SEL can only seat five. Both are powered by a 153 hp Vulcan 3.0-liter V-6 engine that is controlled by a four-speed automatic transmission. It features adaptive front airbags and there are optional side-impact airbags, antilock brakes, and traction control.

For 2006, the Ford Taurus offers only one V-6 engine and simplifies its trims.

NHTSA Frontal Crash Test
